Who is Pastorey Pasta?
Pastorey Pasta uses sourced organic

Through the gentle processes of sprouting
and sourdough fermentation, a lively
transformation occurs; the pasta dough
becomes more nutritious and easier to
digest.

The founder of Pastorey Pasta.
Angela Storey grew up out in the country
where running wild and a little bit of God was all she needed.
The small town she was raised in had
a strong sense of community and supported
local businesses and growth. When she
was 16 years old, she met her high school
sweetheart, Dane. They married in their
early 20s and began their journey with
three beautiful daughters.
Angela has always been a hard worker
though family comes first. Their journey
through life has moved them around, yet
despite many obstacles they have found
a way through. Angela and her husband
settled in the town of Enderby to plant
their roots and sprout their family.
Under her leadership, Pastorey Pasta
continues to grow, providing healthy
nourishment to families.

Why Sprouted Grains at Pastorey Pasta
At Pastorey Pasta, we believe food should nourish, not just fill you up. That's why we chose to build our pasta around sprouted Canadian ancient grains.
Sprouting is a natural process that begins when a grain is soaked in water and allowed to germinate, just as it would in nature before becoming a new plant. During this stage, the grain awakens from dormancy and activates enzymes that begin breaking down starches and proteins. This transformation makes the grain easier for the body to digest and allows nutrients to become more available for absorption.
Many people find sprouted grains gentler on their digestive system compared to conventional grain products. The sprouting process can help reduce naturally occurring compounds that may interfere with nutrient absorption while increasing the availability of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The result is a grain that is both nutrient-dense and easier for the body to utilize.
We chose Canadian ancient grains because they represent the values at the heart of Pastorey Pasta: tradition, resilience, simplicity, and nourishment. Ancient grains have remained largely unchanged for thousands of years, offering rich flavor, diverse nutrition, and a connection to the way food was once grown and enjoyed. By sourcing Canadian-grown grains, we also support local farmers and strengthen our domestic food system.
Sprouting these grains takes extra time, care, and patience, but we believe the difference is worth it. The process creates a pasta with a unique depth of flavor, exceptional nutrition, and a texture that feels both hearty and wholesome.

Why Add Simple Functional Ingredients To Pastorey Pasta
When I started creating Pastorey Pasta, I wasn't interested in making just another pasta. I wanted to create food that truly nourishes people—food that supports health, vitality, and well-being while still tasting incredible and bringing families together around the table.
That's why I chose to incorporate simple functional ingredients into our sprouted Canadian ancient grain pasta.
Functional ingredients are foods that offer benefits beyond basic nutrition. They contain naturally occurring compounds that may help support digestion, energy, immunity, stress management, and overall wellness. Rather than relying on artificial additives or supplements, I wanted to harness the power of whole foods that have been valued for generations.
Many of our ingredients have deep roots in traditional cultures around the world. Ingredients such as roots, herbs, vegetables, seeds, and nutrient-dense plants have long been used to nourish the body and support healthy living. By thoughtfully incorporating these ingredients into our pasta, we create an easy and delicious way for families to enjoy a wider variety of beneficial foods in their everyday meals.
At Pastorey Pasta, simplicity is important. Every ingredient must have a purpose. We don't add ingredients simply to follow trends or make marketing claims. We choose ingredients that align with our values of nourishment, quality, and intentional living. If an ingredient doesn't contribute meaningful nutrition, flavor, or function, it doesn't belong in our pasta.
